My Story

Then…

I was born and raised in the small south Texas town of Portland, aka “P-town.” We didn’t have much, but I loved growing up there. I was surrounded by friends and family that are still part of my life today. When I left for college I had no idea where life would lead me, what I wanted to become, achieve, or do personally much less professionally.

My Drop the Mic Moment…

In college, I decided to take on a project out of the frustration of not knowing what to do with my life. I was going to completely transform the little townhouse I shared with my roommate. I did as much as I could stretching a self-supported college student’s budget. Once completed I had two complete strangers who had just finished my final delivery tell me “That they loved what I had done, and I was talented and that I should be an Interior Designer!” And just like that….at that exact moment…it was as if someone pulled the string, and the lightbulb came on. I knew what I was going to do for the rest of my life. I immediately changed my major, changed schools, and proceeded to complete my schooling. I had to work hard, and I was determined to succeed. I walked into my first job at a real design firm, looked around in amazement and excitement and said to myself. “I am going to run this department one day.” Less than two years later I was the Design Director and running the department. That is where I started gaining my confidence and realizing I do have the talent to actually back my passion.

Since…

I’ve been practicing professionally as an Interior Designer for over 22 years. I love all things design and know my heart belongs to the art of Interior Design. I am also a lover of music, furniture, fashion, travel, animals, and art. I am married to the love of my life and my best friend Ryan. Together we have two furry kids Bella & Max, and our “inherited” 27year-old Jackie Sue. Bringing light to one of my favorite sayings….” love runs thicker than blood.”

Now…

Today. I am a reflection of my journey to which I am beyond grateful. I would not be where I am now without knowing and learning what it was like to fail. What it was like to make mistakes. What it was like to pick yourself up and humbly work to correct those mistakes. Now I have set even bigger goals for myself to achieve. Every event and struggle in my life were the biggest and most important learning experiences. With that being said, I am in love with what I do. I was meant to do this. I was made to do this.

Future…

I can’t wait to see what life holds in store as I continue to achieve my new goals. I would love to share this journey with you. Passion. Perspective. Perseverance. “It is time for you to create a life you’re obsessed with.”
